The multiplier effect of TTN

NANOTEC welcomes 32 new recruits to the Teacher Trainer in Nanotechnology (TTN) Group # 5. The group has undergone due diligent testing and reviews by NANOTEC researchers prior to being selected to take on the important tasks of creating a multiplier effect for promoting the transfer of knowledge in nanoscience and nanotechnology to schools and universities teachers’ groups throughout Thailand. The total number of TTN members from group 1 to 5 comes to 124 members.

Since its inception in 2008, TTN members have reported that they have transfer knowledge and awareness in nanoscience and nanotechnology to over 100,000 people through various activities from organizing exhibition to workshops. TTN is now an independent identity with NANOTEC and NSTDA playing a minor facilitating/supporting role. The first TTN Annual Meeting is being plan for later in the year.

The Vocational Educational Commission (VEC) is looking at the TTN setup as a role model for its own educational campaign to include nanoscience and nanotechnology courses in its curriculum. VEC, NANOTEC, and TTN are currently working on this project. This is a significant step forward for the promotion of nanoscience and nanotechnology awareness in Thailand.
