Nanotechnology is a new trend in technological developments in the 21st century. It involves the process of creating, synthesizing, controlling, and making use of very small materials or structures at the nanometer scale. Nanotechnology will create the materials with special properties that can be transformed to the innovation in all fields of science and technology. This technology will help raising the quality of life of the Thai people as well as enhance the capabilities of the Thai industries to be competitive with others around the world.
National Nanotechnology Center (Nanotec) is a governmental organization under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation which was established on August 13, 2003. The main mission of the center is to build, support, and promote the benefits of nanotechnology as well as to disseminate nanotechnology-based knowledge to Thai society. Our mission also includes the development of technology that can be transferred to industry and raising awareness in nano-safety and information toward Thai people which is consistent with the objectives and goals of the current National Economic and Social Development Plan.
