Joint Symposium on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

The National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), Nanosystem Research Institute (NRI) part of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Japan, and Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) recently organized the NANOTEC – NRI – IIT Joint Symposium on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Thailand Science Park on August 27.

The number 9 is an auspicious number in Thailand and widely believed to bring good luck and prosperity. Hence, the celebration to mark NANOTEC 9th Anniversary today is a start of many good things to come.

Poster Award at ICYRAM 2012

Dr. Suwussa Bamrungsap of NANOTEC Target Discovery Lab received the Poster Award for her research poster  “Magnetic Relaxation Switches for Cancer Detection Based on Aptamer Functionalized Magnetic Nanoparticles” at ICYRAM 2012 which was held in Singapore during July 1-6.

Best Poster Award at MSAT-7

Dr. Pratarn Wongsarivej from NANOTEC NEC Lab was awarded Best Poster Award under the category of Simulation, Design and Manufacturing Session) at MSAT-7 which was held on June 7-8 in Bangkok.

“SOS water” mobile water purifier

 Researchers at Thailand’s National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC) have build the first locally made prototype solar powered water purification unit “SOS water” which combined the use of antimicrobial nanocoating to ceramic filters.
