On Nov 6 NANOTEC organized “NANOTEC Flagship Day 2013” to establish comradely among flagship (FS) team members and to provide opportunity for staff/researchers to select additional FS they would want to be a member of. The event also allows for assignments of FS numbers from 1 to 10.
“Research Flagship programs are like a fleet of ships or armada” said Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Executive Director of NANOTEC. “No ship gets to sail alone and every ship must support/help each other”.
Prof. Sirirurg informed that at the rate NANOTEC is progressing/ expanding and with limited resources it is necessary to initiate the FS approach as expertise in the FS can come from various sources within NANOTEC. The maximum duration of each flagship is 3 years.
