Nanocapsules with cores containing natural ingredients could be used to destroy bacterial biofilms without harming mammalian cells, according to new work by researchers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in the US. As well as being antimicrobial, the capsules also appear to increase the number of fibroblasts in the cells being treated, which means that they may be able to help wounds heal faster……….
