The National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC) showcase 5 highlight projects to potential investors at the NSTDA Investors’ Day 2013 held on Septembe 12 at Centara Grand Central World in Bangkok. The highlight projects consisted of Nano Textile items, NZack (hydrogel and nano-coating flood prevention bag), Blood Test Kit (Surface Plasmon Resonance Spectroscopy), E-Nose (air detection), and Instant Bacteria Test Kit.
NSTDA also took this opportunity to stage 2 successful Technology Licensing Agreement signing between BIOTEC and ECO Scientific on DO-DEE (3 min DO Test Kit – Dissolving Oxygen) and NANOTEC and Jack Chia Industrial PLC for the QAcnes (anti acne pad made from nano encapsulation of mangosten extract) which won both the Best Presentation Award and Outstanding Investor’s Choice Award at NSTDA Investors’ Day 2012.
“To be able to organize the 4th NSTDA Investors’ Day is in itself a testimonial that the event has achieved its goal of attracting the interest of private sector groups” said Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, President of NSTDA. “Being able to organize a venue whereby researchers can present a business pitch of their research outcome to potential investors allow for two way communications and building relationships. This interaction helps to strengthen local business and R&D competiveness”.
The one day event is organized by NSTDA and Ministry of Science and Technology, with support from local business and academia sector.
