NSTDA announced it will organized the NSTDA Annual Conference 2014 (NAC 2014) from March 31- April 3 at Thailand Science Park in Pathumthani province. HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside at the Royal Opening Ceremony on March 31. HRH Princess Maha Chakri will also visit the newly established Innovation Cluster II facility which currently houses the ASEAN Technical Solution Center by Polyplastics Marketing (Thailand) Ltd., and National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC).
As part of its mini-exhibition, NANOTEC showcase the mosquito repellent foam glass which is a research collaboration between NANOTEC and Thaitechno Glass (part of BSG Glass). The foam glass is produced from recycling waste glass, which is then treated with a novel formula of citronella oil to extend the duration of mosquito protection. The product is considered both as eco-friendly and biodegradable natural product. Thaitechno Glass will market the mosquito repellent foam glass for both domestic and international market.
NANOTEC is implementing 10 flagship programs which it considers are in response to both national and NSTDA priorities. Mosquito related research activities are under the Mosquito Flagship program.
