NANOTEC–NSTDA and PMU-B Strengthen Thailand–Japan Collaboration in Nanopore Technology and Health Innovation

NANOTEC–NSTDA, in collaboration with PMU-B, organized the Nanopore Technology Networking Workshop at Amari Watergate Bangkok. The event also marked the launch of a Thailand–Japan joint project on glycomics and intelligent nanopore platforms for microbiome research and health innovation.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Chinnawut Pipatpanukul, Deputy Director of PMU-B, delivered the welcoming remarks, followed by the official opening by Prof. Dr. Siwaporn Meejoo Smith, Acting Deputy Executive Director of NANOTEC. The workshop was led by Dr. Deanpen Japrung and Dr. Thitikorn Boonkoom of the Responsive Materials and Nanosensor Research Group.
Held from 22–24 July 2026, the workshop brings together experts from Thailand, Japan, and other countries to share advances in nanopore technology, glycomics, single-molecule analysis, and AI-assisted signal analysis. The program concludes with a hands-on workshop on Direct RNA Sequencing using Oxford Nanopore technology.
The event aims to strengthen international research networks and support future innovations in health and precision medicine.
