12 March 2025 – National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Industrial Nanomaterials (IINa), Kumamoto University, Japan. This collaboration aims to advance nanotechnology research, foster innovation, and promote global knowledge exchange.
The signing ceremony, held at Thailand Science Park, was led by Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, executive director of NANOTEC, and Prof. Shintaro Ida, director of the Institute of Industrial Nanomaterials, Kumamoto University. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Wiyong Kangwansupamonkon, deputy executive director of NANOTEC, along with Prof. Tetsuya Kida and Prof. Seiji Okada from Kumamoto University.
The event was attended by key representatives from both institutions, underscoring a shared vision of scientific advancement and impactful research in nanotechnology.
This partnership will facilitate researcher and student exchanges, joint research projects, academic initiatives, and capacity-building programs, laying a strong foundation for continued collaboration between Thailand and Japan in the field of nanotechnology.
As part of the event, the collaboration also included the “Nanotalk on Medicine and its Application”—a knowledge-sharing session where researchers from both institutions showcased their latest research in medical nanotechnology.
