Design and synthesis of encapsulation systems for controlled release of bioactive agents with on-demand targeted delivery to specific organs or sites, leveraging nanoencapsulation to improve delivery precision and efficiency. The approach employs environmentally friendly processes and systematic physicochemical characterization and efficacy testing, with applications across human and animal health products, beauty and personal care, and household product sectors.
Research and development activities are organized into five core research groups and one specialized research team with research and development mandates as follows

NANOTEC Research & Development

Design, development, and control of synthesis and fabrication methods for materials and particles with nanoscale architectures to create sensors for signal detection in medical, agricultural, and food applications. The work encompasses biomarker analysis and detection, the design and synthesis of ligands with specific affinity for target molecules, and the development of high-sensitivity biosensors and medical diagnostic devices for the screening and monitoring of priority diseases. It also advances micro- and nanoscale structured devices that impart specific functionalities tailored for future medical applications.
Research in nanometrology and nanoscale analysis covering the characterization of nano-enabled products and the safety of nanomaterials for human health and the environment. The work includes developing prototype instrumentation to improve and increase the efficiency of industrial manufacturing processes grounded in physics and engineering. It also supports collaboration with the private sector through access to instruments testing and analysis services and through the co-development of nanotechnology standards with domestic agencies for use with nanotechnology products.
Development of nanomaterials and polymers in particulate, fibrous, and thin-film forms for environmental and industrial applications, advancing filtration and coating technologies as well as fiber formation and nanotextiles to deliver products ready for adoption across the manufacturing, services, agriculture, and community sectors.
