NSTDA and NANOTEC were invited to participate in the annual Suan Pratum Palace Open House on July 30. Each year HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will invite 4th and 5th year cadets from Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA) and their teachers/instructors from Nakorn Nayok campus to observe exhibitions ranging from scientific to international relations. Over 200 cadets, teachers/instructors participate in this annual event. The aim of organizing the open house is to allow cadet to see, feel, touch, and mingle with exhibitors to obtain first hand information on scientific and international relations topics.
This year the theme of the exhibition is “S&T Development for National Advancement”. NANOTEC exhibition was on Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) technology and HRH private visit to Nano Characterization Lab at NANOTEC on May 26 to produce a series of SEM images.
“I really like this topic because it allows me to know many things that I never knew before” said HRH. “Prior to SEM my learning was from memorizing and imagining images but now with SEM I can understand the images”
HRH also took part in giving a personal guided tour of the 6 exhibitions from Mah Fa Luang Foundation, GISTDA, TINT, NARIT, Chulalongkorn University, and NSTDA/NANOTEC to teachers and instructors from CRMA.
HRH began her teaching career at CRMA in 1980 where she teaches at the Department of Law and Social Sciences. Currently she is the Director of the Department of History and also supervises the Thai Music Club of the Academy.
