On September 3, Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Executive Director of NANOTEC gave a special talk on “Trends in Nanotechnology” at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA) at its sprawling complex at Khao Cha-ngoke, Nakorn Nayok province. Attending the talk was Lt. Gen.Porpol Maneerin, Superintendent of CRMA, executive officers, and cadets.
“The sky is the limit for nanotechnology development related to military applications” said Prof. Sirirurg. “The CRMA is the best place to start building awareness of nanotechnology trends so cadets can realize its potential use in various applications from defense equipment, uniforms, and logistics”.
NANOTEC also arranged to have display of research products from Mosquito Prevention Flagship, Nano Textile Flagship, and SEM technology which HRH Princess Maha Chakri used on May 26 during a private visit to NANOTEC to produced a series of SEM images on specific items such as butterfly wing, abalone shell, lavender leaf, basil leaf and silkworm cocoon.
