Congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Prasert Pavasant, Senior Advisor to NANOTEC and Lecturer at Dept of Chemical Engineering, Chulalongkorn University recipient of the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) Grant for his research project on “Development of a database management system for life cycle assessment of products” and “Life Cycle Assessment of Paper (Phase 1: database) associated with the production of paper.
“There are many tools to assess human’s activities on environement, one of which is Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)” said Prof. Prasert. “The global forest product industry such as the pulp and paper industry is taking a keen interest in the use of LCA to analyze impacts of entire product life cycles, cradle-to-grave inventory for its various paper grades. The Thai pulp and paper industry must follow forth and take interest in using LCA if it is to compete effectively and comply with standard environmental ethics”.
The TRF Grant Award ceremony will take place on August 29 at InterContinental Hotel Bangkok and presided by Prof Suthipun Jitpimolmard, Director of TRF.
