December 2, 2024 (Thailand Science Park), Dr. Somboon Sahasithiwat, Executive Vice President of NSTDA, welcomed a delegation from the Global Cosmetic Cluster Association. The delegation included representatives from Cosmetic Valley France, Japan Cosmetic Center, Lluch Essence Spain, Taiwan Beauty Cluster, and the Thai Cosmetic Cluster Association (TCOS), led by Ms. Lucksupa Prapawit, President of TCOS. The visit aimed to explore NSTDA’s science, technology, and innovation capabilities in supporting and advancing Thai cosmetic businesses on the global stage. The group was introduced to FoodSERP, a team of professionals with expertise across various fields, providing know-how, a range of technology platforms, and modern infrastructure with high production standards.
The delegation was also welcomed by Dr. Kobkul Lauteng, Deputy Executive Director of BIOTEC and Director of the FoodSERP Platform Group; Dr. Wiyong Kangwansupamonkon, Deputy Executive Director of NANOTEC (Research and Development); Dr. Kittiwut Kasemwong, Director of the Nanomaterials Research Group; and Dr. Udom Asavapirum, Driver of BCG Innovation for Value-added Extract Production.
The program also included visits to the prototype factory for nanoparticle and cosmetics production, operated by NANOTEC, which serves as a platform for advanced nanotechnology testing and analysis. In addition, the delegation toured the Herbal Plant Factory, the Thailand Bioresource Research Center (TBRC), and the BIOTEC Bioprocessing Facility (BBF), all managed by BIOTEC.
This initiative represents a collaborative effort within the Thai cosmetics industry, which recognizes the potential of applying science, technology, and innovation (STI) to enhance and strengthen Thai cosmetics, creating opportunities for global expansion. NSTDA is committed to being a key partner for the Thai industrial sector, leveraging STI to foster excellence in innovation, quality, and safety in Thai cosmetics through various future collaborative projects.
