The work encompasses biomarker analysis and detection, the design and synthesis of ligands with specific affinity for target molecules, and the development of high-sensitivity biosensors and medical diagnostic devices for the screening and monitoring of priority diseases. The work includes developing prototype instrumentation to improve and increase the efficiency of industrial manufacturing processes grounded in physics and engineering. It also supports collaboration with the private sector through access to instruments testing and analysis services and through the co-development of nanotechnology standards with domestic agencies for
