{"id":29421,"date":"2012-01-17T09:17:50","date_gmt":"2012-01-17T02:17:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nano2.toolsmkt.com\/?p=3347"},"modified":"2012-01-17T09:17:50","modified_gmt":"2012-01-17T02:17:50","slug":"joint-symposium-opens-in-wintersnowy-korea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanotec.or.th\/en\/joint-symposium-opens-in-wintersnowy-korea\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint symposium opens in winter\/snowy Korea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Korea-Thailand Joint Symposium on Nanobiotechnology kicked off yesterday morning at Mountain Condominium, High 1 Resort in Gohan Eup, South Korea. <!--more-->The objective of the 2 days seminar is to strengthen research collaboration between researchers, follow up on existing research projects, and explore the opportunity to seek research funding from National Science Foundation of Korea.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar is divided into 2 sessions: Nanomedicine, and Nanobiosensing\/Nanosafety. A total of 14 researchers from NANOTEC, KRIBB, KIST, KRISS, KAIST participated as speakers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Korea-Thailand Joint Symposium in 2010 was an important seminar for me as a researcher\u201d said Dr. Warayuth Sajonsang, NANOTEC research. \u201cIt was from this seminar that I had the opportunity to know Prof. Sang Jeon Chung, Principal Investigator of BioNano Technology Research Center at KRIBB and to discuss research collaboration in anticancer drug delivery. It was through Prof. Chung that we were introduced to the Korea National Research Foundation (NRF) where I received the 2011 NRF Postdoctoral Fellowship grant covering the period from August 2011 \u2013 July 2012 to work under the supervision of Prof. Chung in KRIBB in the area of tumor pH and temperature responsive\u00a0nanopolymeric micelles\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The idea to implement the Korea-Thailand Joint Symposium was initiated in 2010 when NANOTEC research team participated at NanoKorea 2010 and visited several Korean research institutes including KRIBB where a half day seminar was organized. It was decided that each country will take turn hosting the symposium. The 4<sup>th<\/sup> Korea-Thailand Joint Symposium will be held in Thailand in 2013.
