{"id":32176,"date":"2026-02-19T10:00:58","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T03:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nanotec.or.th\/en\/?p=32176"},"modified":"2026-03-10T15:44:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T08:44:24","slug":"nanotec-highlights-e-nose-technology-for-precise-pm2-5-source-identification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanotec.or.th\/en\/nanotec-highlights-e-nose-technology-for-precise-pm2-5-source-identification\/","title":{"rendered":"NANOTEC Highlights e-Nose Technology for Precise PM2.5 Source Identification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"82\" data-end=\"353\">On 18 February 2026, the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">National Science and Technology Development Agency<\/span><\/span> (NSTDA), through the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">National Nanotechnology Center<\/span><\/span> (NANOTEC), hosted the <strong data-start=\"226\" data-end=\"254\">NSTDA x Press Interviews<\/strong> event to showcase research innovations addressing national challenges, particularly air pollution.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"355\" data-end=\"729\">One highlighted technology is the <strong data-start=\"389\" data-end=\"417\">electronic nose (e-Nose)<\/strong>, an intelligent sensor system capable of detecting chemical signatures from different PM2.5 sources such as biomass burning, traffic emissions, industrial activities, and agricultural processes. The system mimics the human sense of smell while identifying chemical compounds that are invisible to the naked eye.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"1113\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">A pilot project will deploy <strong data-start=\"759\" data-end=\"781\">100 e-Nose sensors<\/strong> across representative environments\u2014including open areas, agricultural fields, orchards, and natural forests\u2014using AI and advanced data analysis to identify pollution sources in real time.
